IHSAA Sports Information Director Jason Wille announced today that Greencastle High School will host this year's IHSAA boys' basketball semi-state at McAnally Center on March 20, 2027. It will be the first time that McAnally Center has hosted a boys' basketball semi-state since 2001. Southport Fieldhouse has traditionally hosted one of the IHSAA's southern semi-states, but is unable to do so this year because of construction projects at the facility. "It is a privilege for Greencastle High School to have the opportunity to host the semi-state round of the tournament," said Athletic Director Jon Regashus. "McAnally Center is one of the finest basketball facilities in the state, and we are proud that we will get to show it off at such a high profile event this winter." Named after Jess McAnally, a member of the Indiana Hall of Fame who led the Tiger Cubs to 3 straight State Finals appearances from 1931 to 1933, the gym has a capacity of 4,900. Since its opening in 1968, McAnally Center has hosted a significant number of IHSAA tournaments- including 44 sectionals, 14 regionals, and 3 semi-states in boys' basketball, and 11 sectionals, 22 regionals, and 1 semi-state in girls' basketball.
