Julia Mundy had all the right stuff on Saturday for Greencastle Tiger Cubs, allowing zero runs and besting North Montgomery by a score of 10-0.
Greencastle got things moving in the first inning. Kenzie Horton doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. The Tiger Cubs put the pressure on, lead by singles by Brittany Ricketts and Layna Robinson and an error on a ball put in play by Delaney Wright.
Mundy earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Greencastle. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out 12 and walking zero.
North Montgomery surrendered seven runs on seven hits over two and a third innings, walking zero.
Greencastle Tiger Cubs scattered 13 hits in the game. Anna Chavez, Robinson, Horton, and Ricketts all managed multiple hits for the Tiger Cubs. Chavez led Greencastle Tiger Cubs with three hits in three at bats. Greencastle didn’t commit a single error in the field.
