GHS finished 9 th of 11 in the WIC girls golf championship on Sat. Aug 31 at Forest Park in Brazil.
Molly Ramey shot an excellent score of 83 to finish in 2nd place in the individual portion of the tournament; 79 was medalist from Indian creek. Molly brought her A game and played solid, consistent and error free golf. Her driving, iron play, and chipping were all on target. Her putting was also good, but she had a few too many putts to get the medalist title. Molly has been the leader all season and has worked to become the top player for the Cubs. I think today was the turning point in her confidence that she can play with the best players in the area. She will be a force in the Sectional in a few weeks to advance in the state tournament. The other Tiger Cub players did a nice job of hitting their shots and scoring to finish their low of the season for 18 holes.
Kadence shot a 116, Allison a 120, Rain a 127, and Jennifer a 130.
Next Match: Wed. Sept. 4 at Clover Meadows against Cloverdale and Monrovia at 4:30.
