Comments: Southmont shot a very strong 174 to defeat Cascade 206, and GHS 236 in a tri-meet at Deer Creek GC on Thursday. Williams of Southmont shot a very good 40 followed by Berrisford, with a 42, Engel of Cascade with a 45 and Ramey of GHS with a 46. Southmont has a very good team this season with all of their players being seniors. Cascade and GHS are much younger and less experienced. The Cubs are putting some consistent scores in the 230’s but again putting and chipping are the main problems in their scoring. This hopefully will get better as the season moves forward. Molly continues to lead the Cubs followed by Kadence, Allison, Jennifer, and Rain. All of our players are improving in driving, iron play, and course management. The different courses with different obstacles make it a real challenge for young and inexperienced players to be consistent in making lower scores. The short season is also a factor in practice and course play to develop our players. We will continue to work on problem areas.
Next Match: WIC on Sat. at Forest Park in Brazil at 9:00 am. Wed. SEPT. 4 at Clover Meadows against Cloverdale and Monrovia at 4:30
