Comments: GHS defeated the Athenians and Cougars in a three way meet at Tiger Pointe CC on Wednesday by a 173 to 207 & 229 score. Co medalists in the match were Jaxon and Conner with scores of 39. It was a cool, rainy evening and the weather had an effect on all the players. Tiger Pointe played rather difficult with tough pin placements and fast greens. Putting seems to be the most common problem of the three teams with quite a few three and four putts during the round. All three teams have a number of young and inexperienced players that have not been able to putt consistently; consequently scores are difficult to achieve and are frustrating to players and coaches. We are going to put a much greater emphasis on the short game during practice and matches. The Cubs have improved their record to 6-2 on the season in dual and tri matches. Our younger players are gaining confidence in ball striking, but still need to focus on driving and short game skills to lower their scores.
Next Match: Cascade and Monrovia at Deer Creek GC on Thursday at 4:30
