This was our first meet of the season and we had several positives. On the girls side, I believe we are in position to have Claire Gillen, Jada Amis, Emma Wilson, Sydney Kallem, Kennedy Trigg and Mika Mozowa competing at the Hoosier State Relays on March 24th. Keeghan McLain did a great job in the high jump and got a 2 inch personal best. Jada through over a foot further than her previous best from indoors which is a good sign of things to come, and the fact that Claire Gillen is up there with her bodes well for our team as we were spoiled last year having both Mia Stevens and Nailah Ray. Emma Wilson continues to impress as she broke her school record by 11 seconds and recorded the 9th fastest 3200 of All-Time for Indiana High School girls.
On the boys side, we had several out as they are transitioning from sports and getting their practices in. Those that were able did a great job of competing. Michael King wanted to jump in the 17s for long jump and met his goal as he reached 17-2. Ben Gellman has been doing a lot of rehab to improve his flexibility and strengthen his glute yet came out and ran 5:04 which was nice to see. Overall, I could not be happier with our teams performance. It is going to be a good year!
